Tiger fans were rejoicing after ending a long AFL premiership drought with victory against the Crows at the weekend and that cup is one of the trophies Geelong footy fans wished was going into the Kardinia Park trophy cabinet. Ah well, better luck next year, Catters!

The end of the footy season is one of the busiest times for the trophies team at Stan Wootton Locksmiths as we fulfil orders for the football and netball clubs in and around the city. From trophy cups, plaques and shields for teams through to resin statues for individuals, we have a comprehensive range of awards to recognise the achievements of the region’s sports stars, both young and old. Without doubt, we take part in many of the presentation functions around the region by virtue of the fact we provide many Geelong clubs with trophies for their big events.

Anybody who has played in a successful team knows the joy of hoisting a premiership trophy but not everybody gets the chance to enjoy grand final glory, which is why individual awards are crucial in all teams, winners and losers.

It’s a time-honoured tradition to recognise the best and fairest player with a trophy, and there are also trophies for highest goal scorers, best team players, most dedicated club member – the list goes on. If your club is looking to recognise its players and members then you really need look no further than Stan Wootton Locksmith.

When it comes to premierships, Cats fans take solace in the fact the number of AFL premiership trophies in the Geelong rooms now tallies nine. But we also know that Geelong fans aren’t content with that number and will be eager to make it an even 10 in 2018.

We’ll let the Tigers enjoy their moment in the sun but, if Cats fans get their way, look out next year.
